Catch Up.....

So it has been a bit, well almost a year since I have posted on here. Sorry. A lot has happened in the last year. We found out we were pregnant with our second child in January. We found out that we were having a boy in June. He was due September 30th but I was induced on August 21st because I developed HELLP syndrome.

Trevor Matthew was born August 22nd at 7:47am. He weighed 4lbs 9oz and was 17 3/4in long. He spent 9 days in the NICU at St. Josephs hospital. He has been home since, well for the most part. He did spend a few days in the Childrens hospital due to a high fever and then another night at Childrens for two hernia repairs. He is now doing great and getting big.

Jordan loves her little brother and wants to take care of him. She tries so hard to be helpful. She is getting huge and takes all the time. She is so much fun. She started walking right after her first birthday and is now running like a crazy girl. She loves climbing and jumping on everything. I am very excited to see her at Christmas. For Halloween she dressed up as a Zebra part of the day and Mickey Mouse the rest. Boy, did she love Trick-or-Treating. She has been on a sugar high since yesterday.

Jason traveled a lot this last summer. In fact he was almost out of town for Trevor's birth, he had to cancel his trip for the monday following his birth. Hopefully he is done for the year at this point. Luckly my mom has been able to stay and help with the kids while he is out of town. He also spent several weekends building a shed in the back yard. Him and his dad built it from scratch and it turned out great. It will be nice having extra storage space.

As for myself, I've just been busy raising two kids, well one for most of the year. I am also a table leader for the MOPS group I belong to and am going to school for Nursing. Hopefully school will fly by and I will find a job that I love when the kids start school themselves. For now I am very happy staying home and taking care of them.

Ok, so now I am caught up with this year and will hopefully be able to stay up to date.

If I get behind just yell at me and I'll get an update posted.

Jordan's 1st Birthday

JORDAN TURNED 1!!!
Wow, I can't believe it has already been a year. Jordan turned 1 on January 14th. It has been a very fun year having her in our family. We celebrated her first birthday on Saturday the 17th. Our house was full. Grandpa Jahn and Carol were able to make it into town to be with us for her special day. They only stayed the weekend but we were glad they made it. We only invited a handful of friends and all the close family but our house filled up quickly. There were probably close to 12 kids plus all the parents and several couples that don't have kids. Jordan got her first taste of cake. She prefered the frosting but did like the cake too. She didn't want her cake of course because the rest of the kids had cup cakes so I gave her a cup cake instead and she loved it. All the kids helped her open her gifts. I think they all had a lot of fun. Jordan got some new books, a few toys and some really cute clothes and shoes. I think the favorite toy for all the kids was the chair that Grandma Jahn gave her. All the kids wanted to try it. She was wiped out by the time everyone left. It was a lot of fun. She decided to start walking that day too. Now she is definately hard to keep up with but she is so much fun to watch trying to run around.

Ok.. So I am really behind on my postings. Here is an update about Christmas at our house.
Christmas 2008 was a lot of fun this year. Jordan is almost 1 and had a ton of fun opening presents. Jordan's Grandpa Jahn and Carol came to visit from Oklahoma. We opened presents with them on Christmas Eve after attending the Christmas Eve service at church. We didn't do a huge dinner but instead had several snacky foods. It was a lot of fun. Jordan received a new car seat in which she had a ton of fun playing in, but the best part was the box. Daddy turned it into a fort a few days later. She also received a huge teddy bear that she loves to jump on.

On Christmas morning we, Jordan, Jason & I, headed over to Grandma & Grandpa Heibult's house. There we spent the morning and had a very good lunch. Jordan had fun opening gifts and playing with her new toys. She also got a new plate & bowl set and several new outfits that are very cute. She also had a lot of fun playing with Dakota, my in-laws golden retriever.

After lunch we headed to Grandma Jahn's house out in parker. There Jordan opened a lot of new toys, including two new dolls. I think her favorite gift may have been her singing tooth brush though. She even tried to brush the dogs teeth. We had another great meal of ham over there and just had a good time visiting.

Grandpa Jahn stayed in town long enough to celebrate his birthday on December 28th. We went to The Road House for dinner. Jordan loves their rolls. Grandpa got a great plastic cowboy hat that Jordan had fun playing with.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun this year. A lot of new things took place this year. First and most important we had Jordan to celebrate with us. Also, this was the first year we didn't spend Thanksgiving with family. Instead we made a fun trip to Steamboat Springs. We left on Wednesday and came back on Sunday. We went up with a group of friends. Lydia did the majority of planning, which included housing, activities and food. The job of cooking our Thanksgiving meal was shared. I got to learn how to make several things I had never made before including pumpkin pies and sweet potato casserole. Jordan only got to try the turkey but she loved it. Jordan got to go sledding for the first time ever. She had a lot of fun but got a little cold. There was very little snow when we showed up but it snowed a lot while we were there. The drive home was a little long but Jordan did great. Hopefully we will have the same opportunity next year to go.

Halloween a little late.....

So I have gotten a little behind. The months have kind of flown by.

Jordan had her first halloween this year. She was both a pumpkin and a Zebra. We started the morning at the Aurora Mall with the girls from MOPS. Jordan had a lot of fun crawling around the play area and playing with the older kids. The mentor mom from my table has 8 kids and she brought 6 of them with her to the mall. They all loved Jordan and carried her around most of the morning. I am excited because it should mean I will have a lot of babysitters in the future. She was dressed as a pumpkin at the mall but threw-up all over it so we had to change her before we went trick-or-treating.

In the evening we headed out to Southlands mall for some trick-or-treating with a group of friends. Jordan wore the Zebra outfit that Grandpa Jahn and Carol bought for her. She looked really cute. It was really crowded and slow moving though so we probably won't do the mall thing again next year. It was a beautiful day for walking outside though.

Later that evening Jordan helped hand out candy to the kids that came to the house. She always loves seeing new faces.

Lots of new things.

After 13 weeks of hard training I attempted to fun my first Half Marathon. The first 8 1/2 miles went great. I felt good and only had a little over 4 miles left. Unfortunately I get a sever cramp in my right hip which caused my leg to go numb. I tried to continue but my knee started become very painful to run or even walk on. After another mile I got a hold of Jason on my cell phone and had to have him pick me up. Man was I bummed & in a lot of pain.

It has now been over a week and my knee is finally feeling better. I do plan to try again in a few years. Once I finish it though I think the most I will do is a 10K.

In other news, Jordan decided she wanted to be a big girl and go up stairs by herself. We were all at a friends house on Saturday night. We left Jordan in their living room, which was about 5 stairs down from their kitchen, while we ate dinner. Suddenly I notice that Jordan wanted to join us and had come almost all the way up the stairs. She is already an expert and always wants to do it herself now. I guess we need to start working on coming down now.

Grandpa Jahn and Carol were in town last weekend too. Jordan had a lot of fun with them. She helped carve pumpkins and played in the leaves. She also tried on the costume that Grandma Jahn bought for her. I think it might have been a little too small but boy did she look cute. Along with Grandpa being here Aunt Audra came to visit from Winter Park. Jordan loves seeing all here relatives.

Day at the Museum

Jordan & I spent last thursday morning at the Denver Natural History Museum with a friend and her son. We got to see how gold & silver look before they are mined, along with a lot of other natural stones. We also got to go see the dinosaur exhibit that they have right now. While in that exhibit we got to help make a cast of a fossil. After those exhibits we went to the Discovery Zone where Jordan got to play the piano, see how the wind machine blew the fabric up, play with big styrofoam blocks. They also had a volcano filled with stuffed animals. Jordan didn't care for the animals but loved trying to climb out of the volcano. They had tails that the kids could wear in the volcano so I tried the dinosaur tail on Jordan. She looked so cute. After the volcano Jordan played with the bead mazes. She really had a lot of fun with them.
